Why “Perficio” Learning?

Perficio (per-FIK-i-o) is Latin for achieve. My goal is to go beyond checking a box saying “training has been built.” Why not reach for achievement - in both measurable business results and meaningful learner satisfaction.

Perficio Learning launched in 2026 as the evolution of the portfolio site for Elizabeth Bauer, LLC—created to better serve organizations that need more than training for training’s sake.

Workplace learning is successful only when it leads to real performance change. My work goes beyond checking a box that a course has been built (yes, even compliance training). Instead, I focus on helping people do their jobs more effectively by closing the gap between what they know and what they need to do to move the business forward.

Your deep expertise in your business and content pairs with my expertise in adult learning strategy, consulting, and leading-edge tools and strategies for creating impactful learning experiences. Together, we ensure learning solutions clearly identify and address the needs of your business and the people who support it.

How I Work

Performance-focused Analysis and Design

  • My toolset includes action mapping, where I leverage existing content, SME interviews, focus groups - whatever you have available in the timeframe needed.

  • When possible, I’ll dig into the “why” behind the training request to help you uncover the specific knowledge and skills learners need to change behavior and influence business outcomes so we can design learning solutions that target only what matters most.

  • Already have a design in mind, or just need a refresh of existing training? I can work with that and add the polish that makes the results shine.

Leading Edge Development Centered on Quality

I leverage industry-leading tools, including AI-enabled design and development, to work efficiently and responsibly. Every solution is paired with thoughtful human evaluation to ensure quality, clarity, and connection to performance at every step.

End-to-end Partnership - As Needed

Every client’s needs are different. From project planning and team leadership to implementation, testing, piloting, and evaluation, I can provide hands-on support throughout the lifecycle of your learning initiative, or jump in where needed and hand off for your own team to finalize. My strategic vision helps ensure you and your team are empowered to add continuous improvement over time.

Learning Modalities & Tool Examples

My skills and toolset continue to evolve as I learn and apply new approaches and technologies. As my experience grows, I’m able to add new tools more efficiently and intentionally. I regularly share examples of my thinking and deliverables in the Portfolio section of this site. Below is a snapshot of the learning modalities and tools I’ve used over the years.

Laptop

Self-paced Learning

  • eLearning: I’ve used Articulate 360 AI (Storyline and Rise) and Adobe Captivate to create scalable, engaging, and accessible digital learning experiences. I’ve integrated gamification elements including Jeopardy-style recall games, branched scenario experiences, and mock gameshows pitting learners against a static or video opponent.

  • Animated and quick-build video: I’ve used Vyond (including embedded AI tools) and Powtoon to create whiteboard illustrations, scenarios, conceptual explainers, and GIFs. I’ve used Synthesia to leverage the built-in AI capacity to quickly build polished video for the purpose of building interest and engagement.

  • Video screen capture: In addition to screen capture tools embedded within Articulate and Adobe eLearning tools, I’ve leveraged TechSmith Camtasia for quick builds with simplified enhancements.

  • Live action and complex video: I’ve used tools including Adobe Premier Pro, ClipChamp, Camtasia, and Audacity to tune up or build more complex video experiences.

  • Audio: In addition to using Audacity as a quick tool for professional quality recording and editing, I’ve used Adobe Audiate. Since 2024, leveraging built-in AI audio has shown to be more cost-effective, easier to maintain, and now with Eleven Labs it is easy to record a live person’s delivery (with accurate pronunciation and emphasis) and transform it into a voice that best suits the material so it can be created and maintained with studio-quality sound.

Classroom and Blended Learning

  • Familiar tools: I build presentation decks, facilitator guides, fillable participant workbooks, and evaluation materials using Microsoft 365, Canva, and Adobe InDesign and Acrobat, always prioritizing usability and clarity.

  • Less common tools: I design solutions using tools such as Microsoft OneNote for shared facilitator and participant guides; Kahoot! for review and reinforcement; paired Articulate Rise facilitator and participant guides; Articulate Review‑hosted facilitator guides with linked access to LMS content and assessments; and Allego for sales enablement materials and competitive retention drills.

  • Facilitator support: I design and facilitate train‑the‑trainer sessions and establish feedback loops for continuous improvement using Microsoft Teams and SharePoint. I also curate supplemental resources for learners who need remediation or advanced development, leveraging available learning libraries such as Skillsoft, LinkedIn Learning, Percipio, and others.

Project Lifecycle Support

  • Project management tools: I manage learning initiatives using tools ranging from Microsoft Excel to Microsoft Project, with extensive experience in Smartsheet and custom SharePoint trackers that support reporting, dashboards, and feedback tracking. I’ve also used Jira, Xyleme, and a variety of Kanban tools to track assignments and workflow progress.

  • Governance activities: I create and maintain style guides, standards, templates, and tracking systems to support consistency and scalability.

  • Implementation experience: I’ve implemented solutions across a wide range of learning and content management systems (LMS and CMS), as well as learning record stores (LRS) for xAPI implementations. Systems I’ve worked with include Cornerstone, Workday, Moodle, and Oracle Path. For organizations without an LMS, I’ve supported implementation using SharePoint, Smartsheet, SurveyMonkey, and email‑based tracking and reporting.

  • Assessment and evaluation experience: I pilot and refine assessments using reliability and validity metrics, connect learning outcomes to business measures to identify Kirkpatrick Level 3 and 4 impact, and design clear, polished presentations to communicate results.
